The SFVU Wholesale Fishing Tackle Group signs a distribution agreement with Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits.

In doing so, the entire SFVU team will offer the complete line of every color and model available in both their Senko as well as Soft Plastic lines. Larry Evans, Senior Manager for GYCB, Inc. stated, “We are very excited that SFVU will be working with us, they have a great reputation for grass roots promotion of product lines as well as an impeccable reputation for servicing of independent dealers. We look forward to a long term partnership!” Ian Godwin, President & CEO of The SFVU Business Group expressed similar optimism, explaining, “Yamamoto has a market recognition unlike any other brand but we see in that a tremendous opportunity to grow their business even more with independent dealers because so few of them really know of or offer much beyond their Senkos. Ian Godwin, President & CEO of The SFVU Business Group recently returned from I-CAST, the sport fishing industries leading convention.

Held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2010 show provided a great advance opportunity to see what and whom were heading into 2011 and beyond with a clear vision and purpose with regards to manufacturers as well as support companies. Despite the definitive impact the recent recession has taken, companies like SFVU who are positioned to take advantage of growth opportunities, as evidenced by their recent acquisitions, factory signings and asset reallocations, headlined the overall positive and optimistic attitudes expressed amongst the executives in attendance. Ian stated, “We are definitely seeing trends towards core line product offerings but we are also seeing many new upstart companies focusing on the industry peripheral arenas which should prove interesting for those who guess right.

As for SFVU, I-CAST was extremely valuable, if nothing more than for the networking opportunities, as well as to show support for our already great line-up of factories! That being said though, watch in the coming months as we announce new partnerships for 2011 and even better value for our dealers throughout our current team of manufacturers.”
